Suspect in Germantown killed after police chase
WPVI-TV reports a suspect in Germantown was killed after a police chase that sent one officer to the hospital late Saturday night.
According to WPVI-TV, the incident started around 11:00 p.m. on the 2100 block of Nedro Street when an officer attempted to pull over a man riding an ATV.
Police tell WPVI-TV the suspect took off and then jumped off the ATV and allegedly carjacked a local delivery man.
As the suspect left the scene in the stolen vehicle, police say he struck an officer.
Shortly after, the suspect then attempted to get away on foot.
WPVI-TV reports as the suspect reached for his waist, two officers involved in the foot chase shot at him.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
WPVI-TV says the incident is under investigation.
