Shore drivers have a new way to get from Atlantic City Expressway to Parkway

Drivers using the Atlantic City Expressway and the Garden State Parkway in South Jersey to get to the Shore this weekend should see better traffic flow — thanks to the opening of a new overpass.
Chief operating officer John O’Hern of the New Jersey Turnpike Commission, which also oversees the Garden State Parkway, said workers are opening a bridge that will help those getting on the parkway from the expressway avoid becoming tangled in traffic trying to exit to the Black Horse Pike.
“Prior to this construction, someone who was heading eastbound on the expressway and wanted to enter parkway southbound, that exit ramp ended up weaving into traffic exiting the parkway,” he said.
The new configuration has the traffic entering the parkway via the new bridge while exiting traffic is routed underneath. A roadway-widening project is also underway, but that won’t be finished for some time.
