LoMo Harvest Festival and Flea Market& Community Fair
Saturday, September 29. Flea Market 9am-3pm, Harvest Festival 10am-3pm. South Broad and Jackson. At South Philly High’s Gardens come out for LoMo’s first Fall Festival, complete with pumpkin painting, garden tours, snacks and games. And along South Broad Street, between and on Jackson and Snyder, check out tables of gently used housewares and crafts at the flea market. Proceeds from the events support Lower Moyamensing Civic Association. Rain date for flea market October 6. Free.
Go West! Craft Fest
Saturday, September 29, 11am-5pm. The Woodlands, 40th Street and Woodland Avenue. More than 60 artisans will sell handmade wares at The Woodlands along with performances from Perseverance Jazz Band, Citywide Specials, Jay Sand, and Tiny Circus. Rain date is September 30. Free.
2012 Puerto Rican Day Parade
Sunday, September 30, noon-4pm. Benjamin Franklin Parkway, 16th Street to Eakins Oval. This year’s Puerto Rican Day Parade marks the conclusion of this year’s Puerto Rican Festival and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Concilio, the city’s oldest Latin-centric social services agency. Free.
Bella Vista House Tour
Sunday, September 30, 1-5pm. Pick up tickets and tour maps at Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catharine Street. For the second year, Bella Vista’s fall house tour is back with a bunch of residences that showcase the neighborhoods varied architecture, such as the loft featured in the film Philadelphia. Proceeds support the good work of Bella Vista Town Watch. (PlanPhilly’s own JoAnn Greco is an organizer, so if you see her say hi!) Advance tickets are $15 via PayPal (expires midnight on Friday) or $18 on the day of the tour, available at Fleisher Art Memorial.
