OK, so the school is called Tacony Academy Charter. But it’s in Fox Chase.
Do we let Philly.com slide on this error? Nope.
A news brief about a school closure on March 1 doesn’t mention the school’s address, but the headline indicates a Tacony-based charter school is the subject of the story.
Tacony Academy Charter is in Fox Chase at Rhawn Street and Dungan Road. And if Philly.com reporters didn’t know, they should have looked at one of those map things we keep telling them about.
Do we blame them for assuming the school is in Tacony? No. Do we blame them for not even bothering to check the address? Yes.
Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
