Indicted Fattah says he’ll stay in office, run for re-election
ListenIndicted Philadelphia U.S. Rep. Fattah took to the radio airways in his defense.
Speaking with NewsWorks blogger Solomon Jones on WURD-AM, Fattah said that charges against him are false — and he’s going to fight them.
“Let’s see how it goes, going forward, and those who believe in my work, I would suggest to them they should have no fear whatsoever that any of this has any truth to it,” he said.
Fattah also talked about his political future.
“I’m not resigning, and that’s not a matter of defiance, I’ve been elected to serve out my term,” he said. “I’m going to do that, and I’m going to run for re-election.”
Fattah said he looks forward to confronting the charges against him in court.
