Delaware State Police have identified the man who they say was shot and killed after dragging a trooper with his vehicle Friday afternoon.
Police identified the man Saturday as Adam Radcliffe, a 30-year-old from Wilmington.
Police said the trooper saw Radcliffe drive erratically and strike a pole before the trooper approached him at a shopping center. Radcliffe sped off, dragging the trooper with him, police said.
The trooper shot Radcliffe, who later drove through a fence and into a small creek, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. The trooper was treated for injuries at a hospital and released.
Police said the incident remains under investigation. Authorities did not immediately release the races of those involved.
