Philadelphia advises against swimming in fountains
Just because your local pool isn’t open yet doesn’t mean you can play in the nearest fountain. Philadelphia’s Parks and Rec and Fire departments are reminding residents to not swim in the fountains, and to keep the fire hydrants closed.
NBC10 had cameras at Logan Square this morning to relay the city’s warning message, though there wasn’t another soul in sight at the admittedly refreshing-looking fountain.
The city’s fountains aren’t chlorinated, so jumping in would mean you’d be wading in whatever else happens to be floating in the water.
