Pediatrician faces charges in superseding indictment

The Sussex County Grand Jury has issued a superseding indictment against pediatrician Earl Bradley, which replaces last February’s indictment on charges he sexually abused many of his young patients.

 

The Delaware Attorney General’s Office says the action reorganizes the charges in the previous indictment, and that it does not involved new alleged victims or additional alleged incidents.  Different alleged victims who were given several different “Jane Doe” numbers in the February indictment have now been identified as the same victim in multiple alleged incidents.

Bradley also now faces four additional charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child in the superseding indictment.  They involve multiple incidences of alleged abuse of certain victims previously identified.

In the February indictment, prosecutors alleged that more than 100 young alleged victims were involved.

Trial is scheduled to begin February 14th, 2011.  Bradley, whose practice was in Lewes, was arrested in December 2009 following an investigation into the allegations that began a year earlier.
