One dead after small plane crashes near Atlantic City

Officials say one person is dead after a small plane crashed near Atlantic City.

Police and emergency management officials say one person died when the single-engine plane crashed around 8:30 p.m. in Hamilton Township.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was on approach to Atlantic City International Airport when the pilot reported engine trouble.

The conditions of three other people on board were not immediately available.
