Tracy Morgan is responding to allegations made by Wal-Mart in his lawsuit over a highway crash earlier this year that killed one of his friends.
In a court filing Monday, Wal-Mart claimed the injuries to Morgan and his traveling companions were caused because they weren’t wearing seatbelts when the crash occurred in June.
A Wal-Mart truck slammed into the back of the van Morgan was riding in on the New Jersey Turnpike, killing one man and injuring Morgan and several others.
Morgan suffered leg and rib injuries.
In a statement released Tuesday by Morgan’s publicist, the actor-comedian says he “can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused.”
Morgan goes on to say that he and his friends were doing nothing wrong.
