Large tire fire in Philadelphia closes Betsy Ross Bridge, I-95
A large tire fire in northeast Philadelphia sending dark smoke billowing into the air has closed the Betsy Ross Bridge between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

A large tire fire in northeast Philadelphia sending dark smoke billowing into the air has closed the Betsy Ross Bridge between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The fire broke out in the city’s Port Richmond neighborhood just after 4:30 p.m. Monday. Flames and smoke could be seen for several miles.
Transportation officials shut down the Betsy Ross Bridge across the Delaware River that links the city with Pennsauken, New Jersey. I-95 was also closed in both directions. No injuries have been reported.
