Deer considered threat to itself, residents shot and killed in Atlantic City

    A deer that was seen running through residential sections of Atlantic City was shot and killed by a police patrol supervisor today.

    Police were searching for the deer after it was spotted running through yards just after 4:00 a.m. this morning.

    The Press of Atlantic City reports the deer was spotted running through yards, playgrounds and an apartment complex.

    At one point this morning, police attempted to usher the deer into a van, but the deer got away.

    The Press of Atlantic City reports the deer became a threat to itself and residents.

    According to the report, the deer gained popularity in April, when video was captured by an area firefighter of the deer running along Amherst Avenue.
