Husband accused of killing wife after car crash in N.J.

Authorities have charged a New Jersey man with killing his wife after they say he ran from the scene of an auto accident where she was found on the ground next to the car.

The Burlington County prosecutor says Delran police responded to the accident late Thursday night in which a car had collided with other vehicles. They found 54-year-old Cynthia Fortune on the ground with visible lacerations on her neck and a knife in the vehicle.

Police found her husband, 37-year-old Quentin Fortune of Somerdale, at a nearby diner covered in what appeared to be blood and dressed only in a T-shirt, boxer-briefs and sneakers.

His wife died at a hospital and authorities are awaiting autopsy results.
