High wind, rain, causes damage to homes, closes Delaware roads [photos]

Roads closed and houses were damaged during heavy wind and rain Sunday night into Monday in Delaware.

In New Castle County a tree fell into a house on Cahalen Road in New Castle, causing damage to the home and knocking wires down. A Hockessin woman also was injured by a falling tree at her home on Wayland Road. The extent of her injuries are unknown.

The Delaware Department of Transportation also announced several road closures due to downed power lines, fallen trees and high water across the state.

Winds along the Delaware beaches caused minor flooding along coastal roads. There was some beach erosion from Rehoboth Beach on south. All throughout the state it was just a miserable day to be out.
