Gas prices drop by one cent in Delaware after weeks of increases

July has brought steady increases in the price of gasoline in Delaware – until last week, when the price at the pump dropped by about a penny.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular is now $3.53.  “Crude oil has returned to trade in the $80-per-barrel range (down from the $90-per-barrel range last week), which means prices at the pump should stay where they are for at least the time being,” AAA Mid-Atlantic Public Affairs Specialist Jana Tidwell said.  The national average is $3.49, while gas sells for about $3.45 a gallon in southern New Jersey and $3.63 in southeastern Pennsylvania.
