Gas prices dip again in New Jersey

It’s costing a little less to fuel up in New Jersey. Gas prices in the Garden State are down for the ninth week in a row.

The average price of a gallon of regular in the Garden State is now $3.45. That’s eight cents lower than a week ago and down 34 cents since mid-April.

Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service, says he expects gas prices will continue to move lower.

“Crude oil continues to be in retreat, so there’s prospects for some more relief at the pump here at least through June,” Kloza said. “Nationally, they’ll probably stabilize between $3.25 and $3.50. There’s a possibility to be around $3 in New Jersey, but generally above that number.”

Drivers in Pennsylvania are paying an average of $3.51 a gallon, while gas in Delaware costs about the same as New Jersey.

Kloza anticipates prices will begin to edge higher again in July and August.
