Friendly reminder: We have a comment policy and we’re not afraid to use it

We’ve been really encouraged over the last several months as we’ve seen readership and comments increase on NEast Philly.

This site isn’t just meant to provide information, but to engage the people who live in the Northeast, get their feedback and encourage a constructive discussion.

Over the last week, we’ve seen an even bigger surge in readership and comments thanks to a new partnership we’ll share more details about in the coming weeks. But with more eyes come more words, and we want to remind everyone about our comment policy.

The comment policy is in place to foster conversation, not silence people with opposing view points. Any comment that does not meet the policy guidelines will be marked as spam immediately, and multiple violations will result in a ban.

We take this seriously. Our readers should have a place to get their news, ask questions and exchange views without being subject to discrimination, insults or sel-promotional advertising.

If you feel your comment has been marked as spam incorrectly, you can email us at any time. We are judicious with our choices, and apply the policy only as necessary.

Thanks, The NEast Philly team
