31 neglected animals rescued in Delaware

Delaware animal control and cruelty officers encountered a grisly scene downstate, over the weekend.
The state’s Office of Animal Welfare received a tip about neglected animals on a property in Seaford. Once on site, officers found 43 dead dogs, 31 neglected dogs and one cat.
Of the animals seized, officers described 27 as “severely ill,” and were taken for emergency veterinary care; one had to be euthanized.
The 31 animals that survived are receiving further medical care and are being sheltered at the Brandywine Valley SPCA’s Georgetown campus.
OAW officials said the investigation is ongoing and that charges will be pressed. They’re asking anyone with information on this case or to report possible animal cruelty to call 302-255-4646.
