Dover job fair to recruit female officers

The Dover police department is trying to get the word out that it would like to recruit more female pollice officers.

Dover will join with law enforcement agencies from Wilmington, New Castle County, Newark, Milford, Millsboro, Lewes, and the Delaware State Police on April 5th from 5-9pm in the Dover department’s public assembly room.

The Delaware State news quotes Master Cpl. Kelli Burns of the Dover Police department” “We may have 30 applications a years, but only 4 or 5 actually show up for physical fitness test.  If we could get 50 to show up for the test we’d have a better chance to recruit more women.”

She hopes the job fair will bring awareness that women can and should consider careers in law enforcement.
