Delaware police investigate remains found near Rt. 13

Delaware State Police are trying to identify skeletal remains found this morning in New Castle.

According to police, a billboard maintenance crew found the decomposing body just before 11 a.m. in a marshland near the 100 block of South DuPont Highway.

The partially clothed remains were removed and the Chief Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The age and gender of the victim is unknown.
