Delaware gas prices rise for the first time in eight weeks

Delaware gas prices are up about ten cents per gallon since the beginning of July.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says gas is selling for an average of $3.64 a gallon across the state.  The price at the pumps had been going down during the previous eight weeks.  The rising price of crude oil led to the increase in gas prices, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic Public Affairs Specialist Jana Tidwell.  “However, analysts caution this is not the return of $4.00 gasoline.  Rather, they expect nationwide gas prices to range between $3.25 and $3.75 through July and August,” Tidwell said.  AAA says the hurricane season remains a major concern.  NOAA has predicted a more active season than usual.  Gulf Coast storms in particular could impact the nation’s refining capacity.
