Delaware youngsters collect items for military care packages

Youngsters attending a museum program in northern Delaware are collecting items for military care packages to send overseas – and you can help.

Hagley’s Creek Kids are accepting items ranging from toiletries to packaged snacks to DVDs for care packages that will be sent to members of the Delaware National Guard now on duty in Afghanistan.  If you bring a contribution to Hagley today (Tuesday) or Sunday July 17th you can save $1.00 off admission.  Special family programs from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on those days will center around Hagley’s ongoing program, Delaware During the Civil War.  Visitors will be able to interact with Civil War re-enactors, learn about Delaware’s important role in the production of gunpowder, and participate in hands-on activities and other learning opportunities.  Major General Frank Vavala will visit Tuesday. CLICK HERE for more information.
