DAs tell Pa. Senate panel they need law license for most duties
Three district attorneys are telling a state Senate committee looking into Attorney General Kathleen Kane they need an active law license for just about every aspect of their official duties.
The Special Committee on Senate Address met for the first time Monday, starting with testimony from prosecutors that delved into what would happen if they couldn’t perform their jobs.
The committee’s chairman, Sen. John Gordner, said he served a subpoena on Kane on Friday.Her law license is on temporary, indefinite suspension while she fights criminal charges that include perjury.
Gordner said the panel is seeking details about how the office is currently operating, including who’s making decisions.
Kane has argued that she can be removed only through an impeachment process that would have to start in the House.
