Coats and canned goods on the holiday giving list for Center in the Park

Germantown’s Center in the Park is spreading holiday cheer by assisting those that need it the most through multiple donation drives. They are currently accepting canned goods and non-perishable items to benefit the food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church of Germantown.

Center in the Park is also collecting new and gently used coats to donate to the annual winter coat drive of Greater Philadelphia Cares, a non-profit organization that is committed to empowering people to realize their ability to contribute to the community in meaningful ways.

Stephanie Collins, program Coordinator, said they are also collecting personal hygiene products for the in-home support members of Center in the Park. The donations will be incorporated into holiday baskets.

“Many are older and alone at times and don’t have family and friends to enjoy the holiday season with so we like to give a modest gift to bring joy to those who may be isolated and lonely,” said Collins.
