City elections are taking a snow day

It’s official: the city elections are taking a snow day.
For the second time, T. Milton Street Sr. has been forced to postpone his mayoral campaign kick-off. His fellow candidate, Jim Kenney, is rescheduling an appearance with State Rep. Brian Simms and LGBTQ groups. And finally, tonight’s much-anticipated debate between 2nd district council candidates Ori Feibush and incumbent Councilman Kenyatta Johnson has also been postponed.
Yes, we know — the mayor’s race is our wheelhouse here at NinetyNine — but we just can’t resist checking in on the Feibush v. Johnson battle in South Philly where the money being raised and spent is already rivaling that of the crowded field of mayoral candidates and where a local rapper has gotten in on the act.
There’s also a very funny K-Jo vs. O-Fe mock twitter feed and tumblr, which summed up what was SUPPOSED to happen at tonight’s first debate at Greenfield Elementary School.
When the snow is cleared and these events are eventually rescheduled, NinetyNine will be there. In the meantime, our own Brian Hickey was on WHYY’s RadioTimes this morning breaking down the latest on the elections with fellow guest, Citified’s Patrick Kerkstra.
