Camden County towns could save thousands in trash-collection pact

A trash disposal deal between Cherry Hill, Voorhees, Haddon Township and five other South Jersey communities could end up saving nearly $1 million.

Elizabeth Fiedler of NewsWorks reports the new pact between several New Jersey municipalities includes a joint bid for trash-disposal services.

The 14-month contract will save nearly $950,000 for all of the municipalities involved.

Some municipal officials are now calling for these types of pacts to expand beyond trash collection.
