Mary Driscoll, the 94-year-old Brick woman who was badly beaten by her live-in granddaughter last Sunday, died overnight in a hospital, officials said.

Authorities will not determine if the aggravated assault charge filed against Katherine Schubert, 37, will change until an autopsy is complete, according to Al Della Fave, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman.

Driscoll, a resident of the Lion’s Head North retirement community, was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after she was found semi-conscious and slumped over her bed with multiple injuries, including a brain bleed, Della Fave said. Schubert was found highly intoxicated in the kitchen.

Schubert is being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $150,000 cash-only bail.
