Arraignment set today for Souderton girl’s accused killer

James Troutman is expected in court today, two months after the death of 9-year-old Souderton resident Skyler Kauffman.

Fox29 reports Troutman, 24, will be arraigned today for the rape and murder of Kauffman. If convicted of first-degree murder, Troutman faces the death penalty.

In the meantime, efforts to build a playground in the wake of Kauffman’s death have slowed a bit. Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch reports Project Safe Playground has lost its nonprofit status. Donations will be returned, but the people behind the group still plan to establish a playground.
