April 5: Philly Spring Cleanup

The Streets Department says 1,014,540 pounds of trash and 23,341 pounds of recycling were picked up by more than 13,000 volunteers during the great Philly Spring Cleanup of 2013. How much more can we collect this year? It’s time for all of us to roll up our sleeves, don grubby clothes, and help make our corners of Philly each look a bit more presentable.

The 7th annual Philly Spring Cleanup will be Saturday, April 5 from 9am-2pm.

You can browse list of projects citywide (nearly 200 and counting) and sign up to be a volunteer or add your neighborhood’s cleanup project to the list. Blocks, parks, schoolyards, and rec centers are asking for volunteers to lend a hand. Do your part.
