23-year-old woman charged with killing 73-year-old man
A Wilmington woman faces murder charges after a 73-year-old man was found dead inside his home in Gordon Heights near Edgemoor.
New Castle County Police were called to a home on Lore Avenue Wednesday night to check on the welfare of the man, who was found dead on the first-floor steps with apparent stab wounds. The victim’s car was taken, and there were signs of a struggle.
A computer check determined that the car had been recovered in Wilmington following an accident on December 9th. The lone occupant of the vehicle at the time was identified as 23-year-old Ashley Richardson of Wilmington.
The search for her led to a unit at the Possum Park Apartments near Newark, where Richardson was arrested on outstanding warrants. After a lengthy interview and evidence review, Richardson was charged with murdering 73-year-old Reginald Sudler. She also faces a weapon-related offense.
