WHYY Passport is a Member benefit which provides WHYY Members donating $5/month or $60/year extended on-demand access to a rich library of quality public television programming. Stream programs like Nova and Masterpiece on your smart device or computer. You can watch on your television with most smart TVs or devices like Roku, Firestick, Apple TV or Chromecast.

WHYY Passport includes hundreds of hours of programming, including drama, science, history, natural history and arts programs. Notable titles include Masterpiece series such as Sanditon and Victoria along with other favorites such as Nova, Nature, Finding Your Roots, The Great British Baking Show and local programs like Check, Please! Philly and You Ought to Know!

Due to streaming rights and legal issues, PBS is unable to distribute a list of shows. If you are interested in seeing if a specific program is available for online streaming, enter the program’s title in the search box on this page.

Members who wish to take advantage of WHYY Passport must activate their account for access. After registering to confirm your Membership, you will be able to start enjoying your favorite programs.

WHYY Passport can be accessed on your smart device or computer, as well as with most smart TVs or a device like Roku, Firestick, Apple TV or Chromecast. Look for videos with the compass icon. Those videos are only available to users who are registered for WHYY Passport.

No. PBS and WHYY content will continue to be available for free on PBS.org, the WHYY website and other digital platforms. Many episodes of your favorite shows are available for free streaming up to two weeks after they air on WHYY-TV. WHYY Passport provides extended access to a rich library of content for WHYY Members to enjoy.

Certain content, including programs such as Frontline, PBS Newshour, Independent Lens and POV, will always be accessible to everyone.

While PBS does offer thousands of videos for online streaming, not every program that airs on your PBS station will be available for streaming. PBS must obtain the streaming rights separately from television broadcast rights. In some cases, we are only able to offer full episodes for online streaming for a limited period of time.

There are no plans to include PBS Kids programming in WHYY Passport at this time. However, you can enjoy kids’ content at WHYY.org/kids, PBSKids.org or by downloading the PBS Kids app.
