Marty sits down with actor and New Orleans native WENDELL PIERCE to talk about his new memoir The Wind in the Reeds: A Storm, a Play, and the City that Would Not Be Broken. He is best known for his work on HBO’s “The Wire”, in which he played murder detective “Bunk” Moreland, as well as his work as the jazz musician Antoine Batiste in the series “Tremé.” He has been involved in many philanthropic efforts to rebuild his home neighborhood of Pontchatrain Park in New Orleans, including opening a regional chain of supermarkets to offer healthy food to the hurricane-ravaged community.
