Radio Times in Review: Cartooning edition
Listen 00:48:46Guests: Bob Mankoff, Roz Chast, David Leopold
On this week’s edition of Radio Times in Review: We celebrate cartooning, occasioned by the new documentary called “Very Semi-Serious: A Partially Thorough Portrait of New Yorker Cartoonists.” First, we’ll hear from the man who decides which cartoons are worthy to grace the pages of The New Yorker, BOB MANKOFF. We’ll also listen to Marty’s interview with frequent New Yorker cartoonist ROZ CHAST, who joined us last year to discuss her graphic memoir, Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant. Lastly, we’ll hear a portion of Marty’s interview with local archivist, DAVID LEOPOLD. Earlier this year, he compiled an illustrated history about the life and work of illustrator and caricaturist Al Hirschfeld.
