A bill allowing terminally-ill patients to end their lives is winning support in New Jersey’s legislature. The “Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act” was approved by the state’s Health and Senior Services Committee earlier this month. It is now being considered by the full Assembly. The law will give New Jersey residents with less than six months to live the right to a physician-assisted suicide. We’ll examine how the Act will work and the arguments around euthanasia, with Assemblyman JOHN BURZICHELLI (D), who sponsored the legislation, and LARRY DOWNS, Chief Executive of the Medical Society of New Jersey.
