The Democrats are in trouble. They have lost control of every branch of government and have been struggling in recent elections. Change is in order if the party would like to expand their base and energize voters. But what that change should look like is a contested issue, one that seems resemble the primary election battle between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders; the centrists versus the left.
