Remembering Palestinian poet Taha Muhammad Ali

Listen

Hour Two

[REBROADCAST] We remember Palestinian poet Taha Muhammed Ali, who died this week, by listening back to an interview Marty did with writer ADINA HOFFMAN, whose 2009 biography of Ali is  “My Happiness Bears No Relation to Happiness: A Poet’s Life in the Palestinian Century.” Hoffman has also written for The Nation, The Washington Post, The Times Literary Supplement, and the Boston Globe. She and her husband, PETER COLE founded Ibis Editions, a small press that publishes the literature of the Levant. Marty spoke to Hoffman and Cole, who translates and reads Ali’s poetry,  in April 2009.
