The GOP’s new healthcare proposal

House Republicans tried more than 60 times to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, President Obama’s signature healthcare legislation, while he was in office. Now with Donald Trump in the White House, House Republicans have unveiled their replacement for the ACA called the American Health Care Act. While it keeps some benefits like the pre-existing conditions policy, it gets rid of the mandate and replaces subsidies with tax credits. This new bill has a long way to go before it gets to the president’s desk and there questions and concerns about its implementation. Today on the show, we’re joined by ROBERT FIELD, Professor of Law and Professor of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University Kline School of Law and Dornsife School of Public Health.  We’ll also be joined by TIMOTHY JOST, an Emeritus Professor at the Washington and Lee University School of Law and contributing editor at Health Affairs.
