A look at today’s changing drug laws

Last week Colorado and Washington voters passed ballot initiatives in support of the use of legal recreational marijuana. This is in addition to 18 states, including Washington, D.C., that have legalized medical marijuana on their books. The United States Department of Justice’s Controlled Substances Act considers marijuana the same as it did on November 5^th:  a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance punishable under federal law.
