9/11 in movies and in music
ListenHour 2
While the first “Missing” posters were still going up around Lower Manhattan, the idea that “9/11 changed everything” became accepted wisdom. On today’s Radio Times, we look at how the terrorist attacks of 10 years ago changed popular culture, and how in particular musicians and filmmakers responded to the events. Joining us to discuss how the 9/11 attacks, and the global and personal changes that followed in its wake, have been depicted on screen is Virginia Tech Theater and Cinema Professor STEPHEN PRINCE, author of Firestorm: American Film in the Age of Terrorism. Then we talk music with NPR contributor TOM MOON, author of 1,000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die.
