Woman in critical condition after suffering gunshot to head

A 31-year-old woman was shot once in the head just after 2:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of E. Mt . Airy Ave. on Thursday.

A police spokeswoman said later in the day that no arrests have been made in relation to the shooting which occurred near the Wadsworth Manor Apartments in the city’s Stenton neighborhood.

The victim – whose name has not been released – remained in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center 10 hours later, police said.
