What is the role of the FCC in safeguarding privacy?

    A yet to take affect regulation requiring internet service providers to obtain consumer consent prior to selling their information was overturned in Congress this week and President Trump is expected to sign that rollback into law.

    To get insight into what this means NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller speaks with Dr. Christopher Ali, assistant professor in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Virginia and a fellow with the Center for Advanced Research and Global Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.

    Dr. Ali’s also weighs in on the proposed plan to cut funding completely to public broadcasting and what that means for the rural areas of America.
