Utilities: Less than 30,000 without power in Pa.

    Utility officials say fewer than 30,000 customers remain without power in Pennsylvania, down from the 1.2 million outages across the commonwealth during this week’s major storm.

    Peco says 12,000 customers were without power Monday morning, 8,000 of them in Bucks County and 3,000 in Montgomery County.FirstEnergy reports 12,292 customers without electric service and PPL says 4,980 customers are still without power.

    State officials said Friday that 250 to 300 polling places were without power with the general election only a few days away, and utilities have been asked to make polling places a priority after customers such as hospitals and nursing homes.
