Two Philadelphia bars get makeovers for TV series
Philadelphia will make another TV appearance soon. Downey’s and another, unnamed bar will be on Spike TV’s Bar Rescue this summer.
The Insider reports Downey’s, at Front and South, will close Tuesday for the mysterious work by the show and reopen Thursday night.
Downey’s has been there since the ’70s and it shows. While the Bar Rescue crew is at it, the staff might want to consider a website update, because apparently, it’s still St. Patty’s Day.
