Tracy Morgan’s comeback tour to include Atlantic City stop
Comedian Tracy Morgan is launching a stand-up tour that will include a stop in Atlantic City.
Morgan will bring his “Picking Up the Pieces” show to Harrah’s Resort on Friday, Feb. 12.
The comeback tour marks a much anticipated return to comedy for the former star of 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, who spent months in rehabilitation therapy following near fatal injuries sustained in a 2014 auto accident.
On June 7, 2014, a Wal-Mart tractor trailer rear-ended the limo bus carrying Morgan and three other comedians on the New Jersey Turnpike, near Cranbury Twp. The multi-vehicle accident took the life of close friend and fellow comedian, James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, and left Morgan in a coma for two weeks with several broken bones and a traumatic brain injury.
The truck’s driver was later found to have been awake more than 28 hours at the time of the crash by the National Transportation Safety Board and is charged with manslaughter, vehicular homicide and aggravated assaulted. Morgan sued Wal-Mart and settled the case out of court last May.
He marked his initial return to comedy last October by hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live.
Tickets range from $55 to $75.
Friday, Feb. 12, 9 p.m. – 777 Harrah’s Blvd., Atlantic City, NJ.
