Philadelphia’s non-profit community gathered at the Philly DoGooder Awards ceremony, for a swanky celebration held at the University of the Arts’ Hamilton Hall on Feb. 21.
The event hosted influencers and representatives from some of the city’s most prominent nonprofits to honor a handful of area filmmakers and innovators. The project paired nonprofits and filmmakers to help local organizations spread the word about how they’re making Philadelphia a better place.
With the help of Miss Pennsylvania USA Jessica Billings, event emcees Melissa Magee of ABC6 and Kenneth Moton presented winnning filmmakers Steven Denisevicz, Doug Zajaczkowski, Assembly and Neighborhood Film Project with DoGooder Awards.
Also honored with awards for Innovation in Urban Mechanics and Innovation in Storytelling were City Representative Desiree Peterkin-Bell and Executive Producer of Philly.com Leah Kauffman, respectively.
Mayor Michael Nutter was on hand to give out a special surprise award to Philly Chit Chat’s HughE Dillon, for Innovation in Community Building.
