Rehoboth community mourns Orlando club victims (photos)
Hundreds gathered at CAMP Rehoboth Sunday night to mourn those killed early Sunday morning at a nightclub in Orlando.
Tears and hugs were the mainstays of Sunday night’s vigil at the CAMP Rehoboth community center, the acronym stands for Create A More Positive Rehoboth. The group’s mission is to create that positive environment “for all people, gay and straight.”
Reflecting on early morning mass shooting that killed 50 people and injured more than 50 others, those at the vigil lit candles and embraced as a way to comfort each other.
The targeting of a gay nightclub hits close to home for many in the Rehoboth area which has a large LGBT population and has been called “one of America’s best gay beaches” by USA Today.
