PSE&G expects to restore most service by day’s end

Fewer than 5,000 PSE&G customers are without service and the utility company plans to restore most service by tonight.

As of late yesterday, around 4,800 customers were without service — mostly due to issues that require extra attention, like flooding or downed trees or poles.

Here’s a rough timeline of when most customers can expect to see service:

Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer Counties: Thursday evening
Essex and Passaic Counties sometime: Friday morning
Bergen and Hudson Counties: early Friday evening
Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties: by Sunday

Restoration time for those whose gas service was proactively shut off will depend on floodwaters recede.
