Amtrak service restored amid Wilmington propane leak [updated]

    Update, 11:45 a.m. Amtrak rail traffic has been restored. The leak is not affecting the rail area.  It’s still not completely solved, but trains are running again.

    From the Wilmington Police:

    Wilmington firefighters on the A-Platoon are working to mitigate a 500 gallon propane tank leak in the Amtrak yard off Vandever Avenue in the northeast side of Wilmington.Currently the hazard is isolated to areas within the Amtrak facility.  Additionally, localized evacuations are only affecting areas within the Amtrak yards.  For precautionary reasons, the Incident Commander has directed Amtrak to stop all rail traffic until the situation is stabilized. No firefighter or civilian injuries have been reported at this time.
