Pileup blocks turnpike, I-78 in eastern Pa.
A portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is shut down in snowy eastern Pennsylvania after a pileup involving what appears to be a couple dozen vehicles.
WPVI-TV in Philadelphia posted a photo of the turnpike accident online Thursday. Turnpike officials say all lanes westbound were shut down because of the accident between the Morgantown and Reading exits in Berks County.
There was no immediate word on injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvania State Police say multiple vehicle crashes have shut down Interstate 78’s westbound lanes in Berks County between mileposts 35 and 40. Police say the accident was first reported approximately 8:45 a.m. and there are no fatalities reported at this point.
