Phone app in time to help Delaware drivers navigate through holiday traffic

Just in time to keep motorists informed during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has a phone app ready to be downloaded for free.

The phone application which is currently available for Android users, includes the latest travel news and traffic information.

To ensure every roadway is monitored, especially during the holiday, DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center will focus on over 5,500 miles of state-maintained roads around the clock. Those who take advantage of the app will also be able to view streaming traffic cameras, updated travel times and listen to WTMC AM, DelDOT’s radio station.

Meanwhile, to ease holiday traffic, DelDOT is planning to suspend lane closures related to construction work on major roads starting Wednesday November 21st. However, emergency closures due to accidents or maintenance may still occur.
